Cooper Hoffman

Help me make a difference in our community while becoming a better rower!

Why you should support me

My main reason to start rowing was my older brother. I remember going to his regattas. Seeing him out on the water was something that was really exciting, even if I didn’t realize it at the time. So, when I was old enough, I went to Learn to Row with my brother and I realized how much fun rowing is. Seeing all the different people and boats was something special. After getting my feet wet, figuratively, I joined the competition team
with my brother so we could row and spend more time together before he started college. My first regatta was the summer sprints at Tuttle and racing opened a new part of rowing for me. It was fun and exhilarating to be out there racing against other athletes.
I’ve started my second season of rowing with Manhattan Junior Crew and I continue to find joy in rowing. I’ve made multiple memories not just with myself but with others. I think that one of the best parts of rowing are the people you row with. Of all the memories I have including being put in a single for the first time, flipping it too, and even
being on an erg, the best memories I have are the friends I’ve made because its not the boats that make rowing special, it’s the supportive people around you. I can’t explain how grateful I am to have the best team I could ever imagine.
Also, I’m gunning for my brother’s PR…
