What I look forward to most this season is learning everything about rowing. Being new to the whole sport was kind of overwhelming at first, but as the weeks have gone by I have gotten
more and more used to the concept of the sport. I love the feeling of being on the lake gliding
over the water while feeling the cool breeze on my skin. I love the feeling of 8 individuals acting as one, all repeating the same fluid motion, making small adjustments to increase our performance. I also love being a coxswain, steering a fast moving fiberglass hull while setting a pace that I know my rowers can handle. I am the eyes and brain of the boat, and my rowers are the muscle. I am useless without them, and they are useless without me. Through teamwork and comradeship can we achieve our goals of being a fast boat, and I am confident in our ability to perform to that standard this season.
